Our Commitment

CERTIFIED ORGANIC PRODUCE

A & A Organic’s priorities are to ensure that today’s farmlands are available to future generations, to protect the environment and to safeguard the health of farm workers. As a family-run business, we are committed to honesty, integrity and putting our customers first.

Why Organic?

Organic food tastes better!
Organic farming starts with nutrients in the soil, which leads to the nourishment of the plant. Although there is no scientific data available on the subject, we feel organic produce tastes better; we think you will too! All of our growers are U.S.D.A. certified organic by independent testing organizations, whose stringent standards ensure that no prohibited chemicals have been used in the production process.

The Environment

Organic farming encourages food production that nurtures our soil through the absence of pesticides and the presence of rich compost. The inherent commitment of organic farming to crop rotations, living soil, rural enterprise, pure water, and sustainable agriculture is a critical step toward protecting our environment and our individual health. In buying organic, you provide a marketplace for growers who have made the future of our planet a top priority.

Giving Back

A & A Organic Farms has a long tradition of giving back. We are proud to give a portion of our proceeds annually to local charities in Santa Cruz County. We divide that amount evenly amongst our employees and let them decide on what charity they would like to support.

Both the owners and employees at A & A Organic Farms have a history of being active volunteers in the local community. From coaching youth sports, to donating time for nonprofit fund raisers, to supporting & volunteering in local schools and churches. We care about our community, and regularly reinvest time to help those in need.

Health

Organic production reduces health risks
Many EPA-approved pesticides were registered long before extensive research linked these chemicals to cancer and other diseases. Organic agriculture is one way to prevent any more of the chemicals from getting into the air, earth and water that sustain us. The food choice you make now will impact your child's health in the future.

Protect Water Quality
The elimination of polluting chemicals and nitrogen leaching, done in combination with soil building, protects and conserves water resources.

Small Farms

In our 18 years of business, A&A Organic Farms has also helped many small growers with zero interest loans to them to help them run their businesses.

Fair Trade

We are happy to announce our partner growers in Baja California have recently become Fair Trade Certified. We get the majority of our tomatoes and many other vegetables from them. What a privilege to work with like minded people producing organic food for the world to eat and making sure all of their employees also benefit.
